  英语专四作文题目:择友标准

  英语专四作文范文:

There are a lot of advantages to having friends who are different from you. For one thing, they'll give you a different way of looking at the world,. Friends who are different can introduceyou to foods, music, politics, and books you've never tried before. If you're a spontaneous kindof person, someone who is more scheduled can help you get better organized. You, on theother hand, can help them loosen up a little bit, and do things more on the spur of themoment.

Someone who is different from you won't have the same reaction to situations. This can bea big help. If you're the kind of person who gets very impatient waiting for your meal in arestaurant, it helps to have someone calm with you. Your friend can help you keep yourtemper. If you're a little timid about standing up for yourself, a more assertive friend canhelp you develop a little more self-respect.

However, there can also be advantages to having friends who are similar to you. You usuallyenjoy doing the same things, so you don't have to argue about what you want to do.Sometimes it's fun experiencing new things. Other times, it's more fun doing what you knowyou'll enjoy.

All things considered, I think I'd like to have a lot of acquaintances who are different and afew close friends who are similar to me. That seems the best of both worlds.

  英语专四作文题目:该不该相信第一印象

  英语专四作文范文:

Any opinion is, in fact, a judgment. I feel that as Americans we would do well to judge othersless often. Still, we must be able to decide whom to spend our time with and whom we’d ratherforget. In my opinion, this type of judgment is best after we get to know other people. Firstimpressions are not always accurate impression.

Judging a person based on a first impression does save time. There are more people thananyone could possibly get to know in one lifetime. It is frustrating to waste time getting toknow someone, only to find out that your first impression was correct and that you really don’tlike him or her. So is it a waste of time getting to know people your probably won’t like? Thatseems to be a valid point of view, but I believe that it is not the best attitude to take.

It’s more humane to spend time getting to know people before judging them. I know that Idon’t always make a good first impression even when I truly like the person with whom I aminteracting. We all have bad days, I wouldn’t want to lose a job or a potential friendship simplybecause I picked out the wrong clothing or said something wrong. I think everyone deserves thechances make a second impression.

If we all base our final opinion of others on first impression, it would be hard to get to knowanyone. There is always more to people than meets the eye. If we don’t give someone a chance,we may be missing out on meeting a life-long friend. That would truly be shame.
