Due to the comfortable weather, Hainnan is a good place for tourists to be away from a hot place. 　　I like to say something about Hainan. Hainan province which is called Qiong for short, is largest special zone in China and also the second largest island in China with a coastline of 1500 kilometers. It lies in the south of China. 　　I remember when I was young; my mother often described the beauty of the grasslands through this poem: “tian cang cang, ye mang mang,feng chui cao di xian niu yang”. it means in English “Clear skies, sweeping plains, the grass bowing before the wind, revealing grazing horses and sheep.” I could recite this even before entering primary school.

　　 xxyears ago, my mother visited one of the grassland of Inner Mongolia. She said that no words could describe it’s stunning natural charm. With her description firmly printed on my mind I began to long for a tour to the grassland.

　　Sadly, this marvelous image that I had in my mind changed completely when my mum and I visited the grassland a year ago. As soon as we got there, I couldn’t believe my eyes. What was in front of me was just a piece of land with loosely grown grass. In the far distance I saw only a couple of horses feeding lazily. I asked my mother: “Where is the lush, tall grass?” As puzzled as me, she said nothing. I was shocked to see the differences between the grassland in my dream and what was in front of me.

　　On the way home, I thought a lot and tried to find answers.

　　Now I am old enough to bring awareness to other people and share my dream for the grasslands. Overgrazing and extensive farming have ruined the grassland and so taken away the charm of our homeland. But I am confident that one day the grasslands will recover and its true wealth and beauty will be realized as long as everybody gives his contribution to restore our homeland.

　　I dream of being a doctor.

They are confident in what they know not only because they read, learn and think but also because they respect their instinct, intuition and the unique body of knowledge that they’ve developed by living life. They realize that one doesn't have to be labeled an “expert” to believe in one's own truths.

　　Self-confident people don’t undermine their own worth by comparing themselves with others, only to conclude that they aren’t “good enough”. They appreciate their strengths and accomplishments and can acknowledge, without embarrassment, their weaknesses. They don’t live in the “victim” position. Even if something really bad has occurred, they turn it into a challenge, remembering to be grateful for the little things in life.

　　Self-confident people let the world know who they are. If they want something badly enough, they know they have every right to “go for it.” Yet, they also know that the path will rarely be easy. Mistakes, blunders and failures are part of the learning process. They seek to learn from their mistakes and do not waste time torturing themselves over what “could have been”.

　　Self-confident people are not obstinate people. If they have an idea about something and it differs from the way another person is thinking about it, they will usually try to look at it from that person’s point of view, see why it makes sense to them. Yet, a confident person’s sense of self is grounded. It does not blow in the wind. Their ideas do not fluctuate based on what others deem are important.

　　他们说:“哦,肖恩,你现在篮球打得很好,但你在大学的时候,应该不会那么出色了,因为你速度比较慢,跳得也不高,而且你也不够强壮,你的篮球意识也不够强。”这些话都是我在十二岁的时候,在十四、五岁的时候也听过。那么我怎么做呢,我也是站在镜子前,我问我自己,你准备好了吗?你要去向那些质疑你的人证明,证明他们是错的,所以我就不断地奋斗。在我四年的大学结束以后,我决定加入NBA。我到了NBA的'时候,人们的质疑又来了,他们说肖恩你大学的时候是很好的球员,但是你绝对不可能是一个优秀的专业球员,很惊讶吧,很让人震惊吧。而我是怎么做的呢?我对着镜子告诉自己说:现在是你继续努力的时候了。

　　那么十二年之后,我站在各位的面前,我已经赢得了NBA的两个总冠军,而且我在非常棒的两支球队里面打过球,而且我让我的梦想成真了。我觉得我的故事当中,最美妙的一部分是告诉大家,并不是我一夜之间醒过来我就到了NBA的赛场,不是这样的。我这一路上每一小步,直到今天的成功,我被排挤过,有人说我不够优秀,有人说我永远不会成功,当我在篮球方面成功的时候,人们总是希望称我为篮球明星,但是对于我自己的话除了篮球之外还有很多的东西。

　　在我整个四年的高中时间,我的成绩只得到了一个B,其他的都是A。
